Michael Snell has joined the district as Principal, following four years of service as an Assistant Principal at both the intermediate and high school levels at Spring Grove Area School District. Prior to that, he spent seven years as an 8th grade health teacher at Central York School District and also coached high school girls' basketball at Dallastown Area School District.

Mr. Snell holds a bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education from West Chester University and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from York College. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in Educational Leadership, focusing on mass customized learning, which he is expected to complete in the fall of 2025.

A native of York, Pennsylvania, Mr. Snell began his career in education with a passion for fostering strong relationships and creating positive, impactful experiences for all students.

Outside of his professional life, Mr. Snell lives with his wife, Vivian, and enjoys spending time at the beach, making memories with his family, and seeking out opportunities to engage with others in meaningful ways.

Ms. Knerr began her career in the district in 2000 as a middle school math teacher at Eagle View Middle School. After five years in the classroom, she transitioned into several instructional support roles over the next five years, including Learning-Focused Schools (LFS) Coach, Instructional Coach, and Technology Coach. When that position was restructured, she returned to the classroom as a high school math teacher for a year and a half before being appointed as the K–12 Math Department Supervisor—a role she held for 13 years.

In 2025, Ms. Knerr proudly joined the Mountain View Middle School administrative team as Assistant Principal. Throughout her time in the district, she has also served as a student council advisor, yearbook advisor, and held numerous leadership roles within the Cumberland Valley Education Association (CVEA).

Ms. Knerr earned her bachelor's degree in mathematics with a concentration in Secondary Education from Elizabethtown College. She also holds two master’s degrees from Wilkes University: one in Educational Development and Strategies, and another in Educational Leadership with K–12 Principal Certification.

Outside of school, Ms. Knerr enjoys spending time at the beach, gardening, shopping, and being with family and friends. She lives with her beloved Coonhound, Einstein.

Tyler Pierce

Mr. Pierce is honored to serve as an Assistant Principal for Mountain View Middle School. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education (K-6) and a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership -  both from Penn State University.

Mr. Pierce was born and raised a CV Eagle and attended Hampden Elementary, Good Hope MS, and CVHS. After spending the next four years in State College, he returned to teach third through fifth grades at Middlesex Elementary from 2013-2020. He then taught at Monroe Elementary as a third grade teacher and an instructional specialist until 2021. 

Mr. Pierce lives in Mechanicsburg with his wife, their dog Nox, and their cat Cheddar. During his free time he enjoys exploring the mountains and streams of Pennsylvania, fly fishing and fly tying, hunting, and attending a wide variety of Penn State sporting events.

 Gina Petruzzelli serves as the Dean of Students at Mountain View Middle School, bringing with her a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to educational excellence. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology (7-12) from York College of Pennsylvania, a master's degree in Educational Technology from Wilkes University, and is completing her Principal's Certification from Shippensburg University.

Mrs. Petruzzelli started her teaching career at Big Spring Middle School from 2004-2005 before joining the staff at Good Hope/Mountain View Middle School as an 8th-grade science teacher from 2005-2014 and again from 2017-2024. Her leadership roles have included team leader, student council advisor, and 8th-grade girls' basketball coach.

Residing in Hampden Township with her husband, daughter, and son, Mrs. Petruzzelli enjoys spending her spare time golfing, cooking, reading, and cheering on all CV Eagle sports teams.
